1,2,4,5-Tetramethylbenzene is the precursor to pyromellitic dianhydride, which is used for manufacturing curing agents, adhesives, coating materials. It is used in the manufacture of some raw materials for engineering plastics (polyimides) and cross-linking agent for alkyd resins.

Aplicaciones
El 1,2,4,5-tetrametilbenceno es el precursor del dianhídrido piromellítico, que se utiliza para la fabricación de agentes endurecedores, adhesivos y materiales de revestimiento. Se usa en la fabricación de algunas materias primas para plásticos de ingeniería (poliimidas) y como agente de entrecruzamiento para resinas alquídicas.
