Aplicaciones
El 1H,1H,2H,2H-perfluorooctanol se utiliza para preparar diamina aromática fluorada tras generar una reacción con 2-(4-nitrofenoxi)-4-nitrofenol a través de la reacción de Mitsunobu, que reacciona con dianhídridos, como el anhídrido 4,4′-(hexafluoroisopropilideno)diftálico (6FDA), del dianhídrido piromelítico (PMDA) y el dianhídrido benzofenonatetracarboxílico (BTDA) para preparar poliimidas.

Solubilidad
Miscible con cloroformo y metanol. Inmiscible con agua.
