Description

Bathophenanthrolinedisulfonic acid disodium salt hydrate is used as colorimetric reagent for detection of iron. It is widely used for aqueous iron determination without the usage of solvent for extraction. It is used as precursor in the preparation of anionic Europium(III) disulfonated bathophenanthroline tris (dibenzoylmethanate) complex and ruthenium II tris (bathophenanthroline disulfonate). It plays a vital role in the catyltic oxidation of 2-hexanol by making it a water soluble complex with palladium.

Aplicaciones
El hidrato de sal disódica de ácido batofenantrolinadisulfónico se emplea como reactivo colorimétrico para la detección de hierro. Se utiliza ampliamente para la determinación de hierro en agua sin el uso de disolventes para la extracción. Se usa como precursor en la preparación del complejo aniónico tris (dibenzoilmetanato) batofenantrolina disulfonada europio(III), y tris (disulfonato de batofenantrolina) rutenio II. Desempeña una función vital en la oxidación catalítica del 2-hexanol al convertirlo en un complejo con paladio soluble en agua.
