Chlorodi(p-tolyl)phosphine is used as a reactant for synthesis of palladium catalysts for C-C bond forming cross-coupling reactions, ligands for nickel(0)-catalyzed isomerization reactions, phosphinosulfonamide nickel complexes for oligomerization reactions. It is a reactant for phosphinylation reactions.

Aplicaciones
La clorodi(p-tolil)fosfina se utiliza como reactivo para la síntesis de catalizadores de paladio para el enlace C-C que forma reacciones de acoplamiento cruzado, ligandos para reacciones de isomerización catalizada con níquel(0) y complejos de níquel de fosfinosulfonamida para reacciones de oligomerización. Es un reactivo para las reacciones de fosfinilación.
