Description
Diethyl phthalate is used in the production of perfumes, acetyl salicylic acid, plastics and mosquito repellents. It is used in cosmetic formulations and personal care products such as sprays, nail polishes, and perfumes. It acts as an alcohol denaturant. It is also used as a camphor substitute, plasticizer in solid rocket propellants and wetting agent. It finds application as a surface lubricant in food and pharmaceutical packaging. In addition to this, it is used as a detergent base and aerosol spray.

El dietil ftalato se utiliza en la producción de perfumes, ácido acetil salicílico, plásticos y repelentes de mosquitos. Se utiliza en formulaciones cosméticas y productos de cuidado personal como aerosoles, esmalte de uñas y perfumes. Actúa como desnaturalizante de alcohol. También se utiliza como sustituto de alcanfor, plastificador en combustibles sólidos para cohete y agente humidificante. Se aplica como lubricante para superficies en alimentos y envases farmacéuticos. Además, se utiliza como detergente base y aerosol.
Solubilidad
Miscible con etanol, cloroformo, éter dietílico, benceno, acetona, aceites vegetales, cetonas, tetracloruro de carbono, ésteres, hidrocarburos aromáticos y metanol. Ligeramente miscible con agua y disolventes alifáticos.
Notas
Incompatible con agentes oxidantes fuertes, ácidos fuertes, permanganatos y alcalinos. Almacenar en lugar fresco.
