ABS 017-20-02 detects Gelsolin from human samples. ABS 017-20-02 has been successfully used in ELISA and western blot procedures. ABS 017-20-02 does not work as capture antibody in sandwich ELISA. NOTE: Concentration is lot-dependent and can vary from 0.85-1.15 mg/mL
The protein encoded by this gene binds to the "e;plus"e; ends of actin monomers and filaments to prevent monomer exchange. The encoded calcium-regulated protein functions in both assembly and disassembly of actin filaments. Defects in this gene are a cause of familial amyloidosis Finnish type (FAF). Multiple transcript variants encoding several different isoforms have been found for this gene.
