Descripción

N,N-Dimethylglycine is used as an athletic performance enhancer and immunostimulant. It is also used in the treatment of autism, epilepsy and mitochondrial disease. It is also employed as a biomarker of protein degradation in chronic obstructive lung disease (COPD) patients. Further, it is used as a substrate to identify, differentiate and characterize amino acid methyltransferase. It plays an important role for the development of glycine-based ionic liquids and emulsifiers.

Aplicaciones
La N,N-dimetilglicina se utiliza como potenciador del rendimiento atlético y como inmunoestimulante. También se utiliza en el tratamiento del autismo, la epilepsia y la enfermedad mitocondrial. También se emplea como biomarcador de la degradación proteica en pacientes con enfermedad pulmonar obstructiva crónica (EPOC). Además, se utiliza como sustrato para identificar, diferenciar y caracterizar la metiltransferasa de aminoácidos. Desempeña un papel importante en el desarrollo de líquidos iónicos basados en la glicina y emulsionantes.
