Descripción

Rosolic acid is used as a pH indicator in the range from 5.0 to 6.8. It acts as an intermediate in the manufacturing dyes. It is involved in the activation of heme oxygenase and in the inhibition of DNA fragmentation. It finds application in the selective isolation of coliform bacteria.

Aplicaciones
El ácido rosólico se utiliza como indicador de pH en el intervalo de 5,0 a 6,8. Actúa como intermediario en la fabricación de colorantes. Participa en la activación de la hemo oxigenasa y en la inhibición de la fragmentación del ADN. Se aplica en el aislamiento selectivo de bacterias coliformes.

Solubilidad
Soluble en alcohol, hidróxido sódico, hidróxido de potasio y ácidos fuertes. Insoluble en agua.
